One of my close friends has lots
of health problems, so I was shocked to hear that her favorite verse is: “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14 NIV).
So many times I get frustrated with my body, the way I look, or the way
I feel. I get self-conscious,
especially when I’m having a bad hair day, or I’ve gained a few pounds. I get emotional and sometimes even
allow my emotions to affect my mind and my spirit.
As I’ve searched YouTube videos, to find songs for my blog,
I have found several videos of girls asking am I pretty; am I fat; would you
date me? They are fishing for complements,
but catch more than they desire. The comments are often brutal. It breaks my hearts, because these young
women don’t realize that “He has made everything beautiful in its time”
(Ecclesiastes 3:11). Sometimes, I struggle with this too. I often overlook the loving care He took when
He made me, just the way I am.
We are more beautiful than what the world
tells us or what we perceive. Charm
is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be
praised (Proverbs 31:30).
My daughter’s poor their heart into their
artwork. I love how proud they are of
their finished accomplishments. They
never fret over the imperfections, they boast of its beauty. I believe that’s how God sees us, “for
we are God’s handiwork” (Ephesians 2:10).
Before we were born, He knew all about us; He even knew all
the mistakes we would make. Yet, to Him
we are perfect; we are beautiful.
A short inspirational video by Nick Vujicic (3:33)
Every creation is beautifully and wonderfully made. I wish I could always hear God's voice as loud and clear as I can the World's.
